(Notice) Seoul Counts down to New Year with Winta Festa 2023
SMG to host Seoul Winter Festa 2023 at 7 venues under the theme of "light" from Dec. 15, 2023 to Jan. 21, 2024.
Countdown to midnight on Sun, Dec. 31 from Bosingak Pavilion to Sejong-daero, along with the bell-ringing ceremony with live streams at DDP, Gwanghwamun, and Samwon Countdown event held in connection with large-scale influencer event "SeoulCon" for 3 billion subscribers to enjoy together The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) announced that Seoul Winta (Seoul Winter Festa) 2023, linking seven iconic spots in Seoul, will be held from Fri, Dec. 15 to Sun, Jan. 21, 2024. Under the theme of "light," the event will feature media façades and projection mapping at DDP, Bosingak Pavilion, Sejong-daero, Gwanghwamun Square, Songhyeon Green Plaza, Cheonggyecheon Stream, and Seoul Plaza for spectators to enjoy the dazzling light exhibitions.
Downtown Seoul will reinvent itself into a year-end countdown and light festival tourist attraction this winter after the city decided to pursue a "large-scale downtown winter festival" by amassing and connecting year-end events that are typically held in various venues throughout winter.

Seoul Winta 2023 Events
In particular, the festival is intended to become a "global event" that citizens of Seoul as well as touristsof the year to bid farewell to the old year and ring in the new. A live stream of the ceremony will be available for viewing in more open spaces away from Bosingak, including Samwon, Gwanghwamun Square, and DDP, allowing more people to freely enjoy the event.
In addition, SeoulCon 2023 will be held at DDP from Sat, Dec. 30 to Mon, Jan. 1, 2024 in connection with Seoul Winta 2023 in efforts to create a "winter festival enjoyed by the world." Collaboration with global influencers is intended to further raise anticipation for the festival and share it with the rest of the world
