Stricter COVID-19 protocols for persons arriving to the Republic of Korea  (protocols in the Republic of Korea)

Stricter Protocols : From July 25th, Arrivals shall undergo PCR testing on the 1st day (shortened from the previous 3-day window), and are recommended to remain at their place of stay until PCR test results are confirmed negative.

Configuration of Q-Code* for arriving persons to register their test results by strengthening public health management in connection with public health centers having jurisdiction over the registered database and sending messages to encourage arriving persons to get tested. COVID-19 screening centers will be expanded to operate in regional airports to improve testing accessibility.**

* Q-Code (cov19ent.kdca.go.kr): Issuing or printing of QR code after entering personal information (e.g. passport number), immigration information (e.g. departing country, flight, place of stay, contact information), and other quarantine-related information for QR-based quarantine.

** (As-Is) Incheon Airport (3 locations, starting Nov. 2021), Gimhae Airport (1 location, starting Jun. 2022)
(To-Be) Jeju Airport (1 location, as of mid-Jul. 2022), and expansion to regional airports according to arrivals

– Nationwide social distancing campaign

The Central Disease Control Headquarters emphasized that it is crucial to observe disease control and prevention on an individual basis (i.e. personal hygiene such as wearing a face mask, washing one’s hands, and frequently ventilating indoor space) as well as voluntarily social distancing to minimize health concerns (i.e. severe illness, death) in the midst of the nationwide return to normalcy.

- [**Important]  Regarding entry policies (guideline for Pre-departure PCR test certificate to prepare before flying which is separate from the above), please directly contact Korean Embassy/Consulate in your own country of nationality for up-to-date entry information before the travel.
